Use of Porous Titanium Trabecular as a Bone Defect Regenerator: In Vivo Study

چکیده
The application of porous materials is increasingly being used in orthopaedic surgery due to its good results. Bone growth within the pores results excellent mechanical fixation with bone, as well bone regeneration. pores, addition colonised by produce a decrease modulus elasticity that favours transfer loads bone. This research shows an experimental study where we have created critical osteoperiosteal defects 10 mm on rabbit’s radius diaphysis. In one group rabbits (experimental group) implanted bioactive titanium cylinder, and another allowed spontaneous regeneration (control group). Mechanical tests were performed assess material. Image diagnostic techniques (X-ray, scanner 3D scan: there are no references literature use CT-scan defects) histological histomorphometric studies post-op after 3, 6 12 months performed. All control cases went through pseudoarthrosis. 9 complete was observed, normal cortical-marrow structure established at months, similar Titanium trabecular reached percentage inside implant 49.3% surface 3 post-op, 75.6% 81.3% months. biomaterial has appropriate characteristics allow ingrowth, it can be proposed graft substitute regenerate defects, scaffold, or coating achieve osteointegration.

Development of an antibacterial porous scaffold for bone defect treatment
Background & Aim: The use of bone scaffolds is one of the new and efficient techniques for repairing bone defects that provide a suitable platform for cell proliferation and growth to repair the target tissue. One of the most important causes of failure of transplants and surgical procedures is the invasion of bacteria at the site of the complication and the development of severe infection. The...
متن کاملUse of porous trabecular metal augments with impaction bone grafting in management of acetabular bone loss
BACKGROUND The use of impaction grafting in revisions with larger acetabular bone defects has mixed outcomes and sometimes high failures rates. PATIENTS AND METHODS This prospective, single-center study involved a consecutive series of 24 patients who underwent complex reconstruction of the acetabulum using a trabecular metal augment, impaction bone grafting, and a cemented high-density polye...

15 صفحه اولRapid prototyped porous nickel–titanium scaffolds as bone substitutes
While calcium phosphate-based ceramics are currently the most widely used materials in bone repair, they generally lack tensile strength for initial load bearing. Bulk titanium is the gold standard of metallic implant materials, but does not match the mechanical properties of the surrounding bone, potentially leading to problems of fixation and bone resorption. As an alternative, nickel-titaniu...
